Every single registered domain has a minimum of 2 Name Server records that show where it is hosted i.e. by using these records you point your domain to the servers of a specific hosting company. This way, you have got both your website and your e-mails handled by the very same service provider. On the lower level of the Domain Name System (DNS), however, there are lots of other records, for instance A and MX. The former reveals which server manages the website for a given Internet domain and is always an IP address (123.123.123.123), while the second one reveals which server manages the e-mails and is always an alphanumeric string (mx1.domain.com). As an example, whenever you enter a domain in your browser, your request is directed through the global DNS system to the provider whose NS records the domain uses and from there you will be directed to the servers of another company in case you have set an IP address of the latter as an A record for your domain. Having different records for the website and the emails means that you may have your site and your emails with 2 different companies if you'd like.

Custom MX and A Records in Cloud Hosting

The Hepsia hosting Control Panel, that comes with each and every cloud service which we offer you, allows you to view, change and set up A and MX records for every domain name or subdomain in your account. From the DNS Records section, you are going to be able to view a list of all hosts within the account from a to z with their related records, so any update won't take you more than a few mouse clicks. Setting up new records is equally easy if, as an example, you want to use the email services of another company and they ask you to create more MX records than the default 2. You can even set the priority for every single MX record by setting different latency. To put it differently, when your emails are delivered, the sending server is going to contact the record with the smallest latency first and if the connection times out, it's going to contact the next one. Using our advanced tool, you are going to be able to manage the records of your domains and subdomains easily even if you have no prior experience with such matters.

Custom MX and A Records in Semi-dedicated Servers

With the semi-dedicated servers that we provide, you are going to have 100 % control over the records of all domain addresses and subdomains you add in your hosting account. You can easily check what A and MX records every one of them has using the DNS Records section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel and changing any record takes simply a couple of clicks. If you decide to change your web or e-mail hosting provider, you can change the necessary record and point your domain address to the other service provider for one of the services, while you still continue using the other one through us. You may also keep the main domain address here, while you change the A record of only one of its subdomains. If you're modifying the MX records and you need additional ones on top of the default two that we have, you could create them with ease and set a different priority for each one.
