An access log is a thorough list of all the files that were accessed by the visitors of a particular website. Each and every file that was requested for whatever reason shall be listed, so if you have only one page with 3 embedded pictures, one video and one embedded text file, for example, the access log will contain a total of 6 entries - one for each of the six files that were accessed when the visitor opened the webpage. A log typically shows the file name and path, the date, plus the visitor’s Operating System, web browser and IP address. Oftentimes you may also find the referrer Internet sites that sent the visitors to your site. The data that an access log file provides is in human-readable plain text format. It can also be processed by special software on a PC and used to write reports on the overall performance of an Internet site, independent of the web stats your hosting server may have generated.

Access Log Manager in Cloud Hosting

If you opt for one of our cloud hosting solutions, you shall get detailed access logs for all your sites. As soon as you sign in to your Hepsia CP, you can go to the Access/Error Logs section in which you will see a full list of the domains and subdomains you have added or created in the hosting account. You will only have to click on the On button, that's found on the right-hand side of each and every hostname and our cloud platform shall start generating logs straight away. To stop this function, you'll need to follow the same exact steps and click on the Off button. The domains and subdomains can be handled individually and anytime. You can find a download link within the Logs section of the CP for every log created by our system, so that you can save the file to your personal computer and view it or use it with some log processing software.

Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Servers

Our state-of-the-art hosting platform shall generate access logs for every single site hosted within a semi-dedicated server account, provided that this function is enabled. All domains and subdomains that you have will be listed in the Access/Error Logs section of the Hepsia Control Panel, which we offer with all of the accounts, so if you'd like our system to start producing logs for any of them, you should just click on the small button on the right side of the respective domain/subdomain and switch the default Off option to On. You can disable this function at any time by following the very same steps. You'll find a Download link for each and every log in the very same section of the CP, so you may save the content gathered by our system in .txt format with no more than a click. An existing log file can be downloaded even after the option has been disabled, so you will still be able to view the data that's already been generated.
